Possibly my best week yet

An excellent week! Possibly my cold finally getting out of my lungs was the reason, but none the less, a really good week. I came away from both the Thursday and Saturday class feeling quite good about my progress. Technically I didn’t feel any real improvement, and perhaps I even felt a bit off on combo’s and kicks. When Sensei pointed out my mistakes I had enough active grey matter left that I heard and remember what the suggestions were. The best part of all this was having energy even after the class, and being a little bouncing during the class too!

Saturday I wore hand protectors for the first time. Since tournaments don’t allow hand or feet protectors I don’t really believe in wearing them during practice either. However, one knuckle was so sensitive I was not able to practice without doing something. Having my hands covered did allow me to focus more on technique and less on fear of getting hurt.

Last week I said I would start running. Well, no go there. This week for sure. Although my current running shoes are pretty much toast, there is enough life left in them to get me around the block a few more times. Using the weather as an excuse saw last week with radical temperature changes from plus 10°C to -12°C. This week is going to see more suitable Maple Sugaring weather, with daytime temperatures in the plus and night time in the minus range. Wow, this week sees +13 on Tuesday and Wednesday, very nice.
